Even when all seems bad and everything has gone to shit, there is still reason for hope. Iris and her friends will do what they can in the face of a government that imposes change that is exactly the opposite of what seems right. Karen and her family believe that love and education is enough to change things for the better. Lindiwe and her grandmother struggle against adversity, but refuse to give up their essential faith in humanity. Molly and Mark have one another and their daughter. And even when the pursuit of love fails more often than it succeeds, as Alex discovers, there is surely enough good in the world to raise the spirits in times of adversity and irreversible decay.
